I think of my art as extensions of myself and the people around me. Each photograph, poem, and interactive art piece reflects a fragment of myself and others who exist in my life. I draw inspiration from the stories and actions of others for my poetry. I observe, listen, and collect words and phrases and use them later on. My photography tends to be more subjective. Currently I am working on an ongoing series called Dishevelment, which involves finding and documenting abandoned buildings. These buildings are extensions of the people who built and occupied them. I play around with the space and feel of these structures, often going back and documenting them in various seasons and weather conditions.
